Meet the Artist: Mark Grills
Hey there, my names Mark and I do printmaking. Throughout the course I have used the manipulation of paper in my work, working from a sculptural side of the paper and turning this into a two dimensional piece through print. I would mainly work in black and white as I enjoy the dark and light properties of work. However, working through this year I have introduced more colour into my work, looking at the psychological effects and meaning behind each colour used.
Each colour has a specific meaning on myself keeping to a strict colour palette as these are what mean most to me and have the biggest effect on me. My work is quite personal, as it is essentially telling a story of what I have faced.
At the moment I am currently working on furthering my ideas by preparing stencils for printing and doing further research.
Thank you for reading, and really hope to see you at the Degree Show. Drop by and meet our other artists too!
