Julie Woodbridge
I am a mixed media artist mainly working in Ceramics, Sculpture, Photography and Film. Working across different mediums allows me freedom to work with little constraint; choosing those materials and processes which will best achieve my desired results. I enjoy experimentation and using combinations of materials together.
My most recent body of work has been born from researching and exploring the theme of mental illness. The images of Victorian mental institutions and patients have heavily influenced my work; leading me to explore the notion of barriers, constraint and cage.
