I use materials that give a smooth texture like drawing inks and markers on smooth cartridge paper. I aim for the look of a graphical piece of work and take hours on each individual piece, measuring out its symmetry, making sure the circles and squares are perfect for pieces that need it.

My work is a response to my research into ancient belief systems and stories of the old gods and gods of now and by looking at symbolism within religion, like animals, flowers and other objects. I also look at science subjects such as the planets to find the connections to the Gods within that.

I have created different series of artworks based around these ideas and influences such as The Planets, and The Birds with Halos. It is likely that other series of artworks will be developed in the near future.

Currently I am looking at the stain glass windows of cathedrals and churches, at the way they exaggerate and separate the colours within their carefully organised compositions and the use of halos and I would like to use that visual organisation in telling my own stories, which I see as incorporating religious symbolism into my own fantasy themed work.
